Let me tell you how incredibly strange it is to walk out of 100-degree heat into Nordstrom and start trying on sweaters. Super weird! I realize that not everyone lives in the South and experiences perpetual summer so I’m willing to suck it up for you guys!
This isn’t the first time I’m shopping the NSale but it is the first time I’m shopping it as a “blogger” or at least through the lens of a blogger and I have some thoughts before I dive into my sale picks.

1. If you’re planning to go to your local Nordstrom to shop the sale in person – temper your expectations. Not all Nordstrom’s have all the things in the sale and they definitely do not have a ton of sizes in stock in store – even if you’re shopping early access with the Nordstrom card.
2. I feel like the sale is really meant to be shopped online because that’s where the stock is. So you’re going to have to watch bloggers try-on clothes and get the best advice about what size you should order.
3. Just about every shoe I wanted to try I could only try on for fit because they didn’t have my size and/or the color I was looking for. After I made my decisions, the associate said they could order it online so I was like I guess I should have just shopped from home.
4. You can ONLY purchase with your Nordstrom card. They don’t accept any other forms of payment. You can’t even make a partial payment with another payment method AND you cannot buy anything that is part of the anniversary sale (even for full-price) with another form of payment. So if you don’t have a card, you’re not buying NSale items until it’s open to the public. Period!
5. Choose your picks wisely. It’s your money and you ultimately have to pay the bill. Go for things that you really are going to get the most wear out of like basics, staples, cardigans, jackets, denim etc…
Sizing: I’m typically a size medium in tops and size 8/29 in jeans and will be the size I’m wearing unless otherwise specified. To shop the item, click the name of the item at the bottom of each photo.
Madewell Jeans & Caslon Henley
I am favoring everything Caslon in this try-on as you will soon see. The level of comfort of this henley is out-of-this-world. It comes in 5 colors and is so cozy! I got my usual size medium but it definitely runs oversized and you could size down.
These Madewell jeans are PHENOMENAL! They have so much stretch and don’t have any discolorations or distressing so they are a great wardrobe basic. I am willing to spend more on jeans that aren’t trendy because I know they’ll be in rotation for many seasons. They’re $89.90 on the sale which is a great deal! They are mega high-waisted (I’m talking above the belly button on me) so if you don’t like high-waisted, these aren’t for you!

Caslon Basic Tee
I liked the Caslon tee’s better than the BP one’s this year. I felt like they were softer and better quality. They’re available in 9 different colors/patterns and they are under $16. These are essentials for layering in your Fall wardrobe. Plus, you can wear them now.

All In Favor Twist Tank
This tank is so flattering and I loved it immediately. The olive color was my fav but it comes in 3 other colors as well and they’re priced just right at $18.90! The fabric is really luxurious and you can absolutely wear this now.

BP Cami
These were quick sellers and must-have basics for the Fall! When I was linking them up they are already sold out in the white and black but there are still some sizes left in the leopard and 2 other prints. Grab them QUICK and keep your fingers crossed for a re-stock. These camis are only $26, run TTS and have adjustable straps.

Leith Long Cardigan
I took this cardigan home in the oatmeal color you see here but it comes in 4 other colors as well. I love the quality of this cardigan and it’s a great neutral. I sized down to a small and felt like the length was good – even for a petite gal!

Thread & Supply Quilted Utility Jacket
This jacket is like the best of both worlds! It means business and looks tough from the outside with ALL. THE. POCKETS. and on the inside, it is SO soft, warm and all cozy! I’m wearing the slate green color here but it also comes in a blush pink and it’s under $60. This is one of the best deals I saw! This is a great piece!

Caslon Sweatshirt
More leopard (and still more to come) sorry but not sorry at all! This sweatshirt is the SOFTEST. This cutie came home with me in a medium and I know I’ll get some major wear out of it! It’s $32 and comes in a camo and star print as well.

Green Leopard Socialite Tee & KUT Jeans
You know this twist on leopard came home with me. I haven’t run across green leopard EVER so my mom and I snagged the last two at The Woodlands Nordstrom. Incredibly soft, so cute and fits true to size. It’s under $16 and does come in a regular brown leopard if you’re looking for your walk on the wild side to be a little tamer – but I’m going for it! <rawr>
I finally switched jeans to the Catherine Boyfriend Jeans. I loved the fit of them and I’m wearing my usual size 8. They didn’t have a petite available so they were too long on me but they do have them in petite online. These are another great staple jean. They’re a great wash and have no distressing. I like the boyfriend cut because you always want to have some different cuts of jeans in your closet.
I also don’t know what’s up with my face here. I must have been getting tired. My mom ended up taking these home in a 0. That’s her leg in the background!

Madewell Cardigan + BP Long Sleeve
I love this Madewell grey & navy color blocked cardigan. It’s kind of a wool blend but it’s so soft. I can see this going with so many outfits for the Fall.
Layering pieces are a must during the Fall/Winter and these BP Long-Sleeve pocket shirts are so great. They’re a thin material so you won’t get too hot and they’re a great price under $16.

BlankNYC Teddy Coat
Teddy bear’s for adults? Yes, please! This is my favorite piece of the sale! I was super skeptical about this online but once I was in the store and I kept passing it over and over – I felt like it was calling to me! Try me, try me, you’ll love me! And I DID! I cannot get over how cute this little teddy jacket it! I was actually styling it so many different ways in my head. If anything is as soft as it looks – it’s THIS! Also, it’s only $65 for the NSale so buy this!

Go Your Own Way Tee + BP Cardigan
I wouldn’t necessarily pair these two pieces together because they’re they same color but I wanted to show you both. If you’re looking for a neutral color long sweater that’s a great price point the BP one is for you. It’s not as soft as the Leith sweater I tried on earlier and has a little more of a knit texture but still a great find and high-quality for $31.90.
This “Go Your Own Way” t-shirt is such a ME tee! I love it because it’s the lyrics from the Stevie Nicks song but also because it’s a reminder that you are on your own path.

I Don’t Need Coffee Tee Crop
I’m not usually a crop tee fan but I really liked this one! It’s just $18.90 for the sale and is nice a breezy for summer. I have a long torso and I still have a teeny bit of length left to do the smallest of tucks but the motto of this shirt is just too real!

Wit & Wisdom Snake Print Jean + Long Sleeve
Finally, popping the color with the Socialite coral long-sleeve tee. It’s mega soft and almost feels like cashmere but without the cashmere price at $22.90. I love the fit on it and it’s longer in the front and back so you could wear it with leggings too (especially if you sized up one).
The star of this show is these snakeskin Wit & Wisdom jeans! If you haven’t tried this brand of jeans – you MUST! They have this ab-solution technology with elastic inside the waistband that holds your tummy in and keeps everything nice and smooth! If you’re petite – you do need to order petite sizing in these. I didn’t take these home because they didn’t have petites – but I ordered them online! The snake print trend is going to be big this fall so if you grab the pattern with these pants – you’ll be set!

Socialite Long Sleeve (TTS) // Wit & Wisdom Snake (8 – need petite)
These finds are a round-up of the things I found actually in my local Nordstrom. I’m going to round-up some of my overall general favs and recommended Fall staples as well. So many things are already sold out so be patient because even though they say no re-stocks – some of the items will definitely get more inventory. Plus, I’m going to find some great, affordable dupes to all these NSale pieces for those of you who aren’t shopping this sale but still want some of the same looks.
On a financial note, I set a budget for what I was willing to spend this year at the sale. I had $500 to work with and I already had a Nordstrom credit card but I would really make the best financial decision for you and your family about whether or not you should open a credit card to shop this sale. Just being real and honest here. These are just clothes and while I am here to encourage you to shop and start building your Fall wardrobe – I certainly don’t want anyone taking on any additional financial burdens in order to buy clothes.
