With Spring blossoming all around, now is the perfect time to spruce up the main gathering areas in your home for the new season. I curated a mood board with pieces from Birch Lane to inspire some simple shifts in room design that will bring a breath of fresh air to your living spaces. Additionally, I’m sharing a few tips for a Spring Living Room & Dining Room Refresh.
Living Room Refresh
The Living Room is a high-traffic area that needs to be both functional, comfortable, and beautiful. A well-thought-out room starts with choosing timeless pieces in color schemes you can build around season after season. Selections like the Wade 77″ Rolled Arm Sofa in Classic Bleach White, the Snyder 23″ Side Chair, and Malibu Coffee Table anchor the room with dynamic furniture pieces that can transition from season to season and room to room.

The first way to refresh a neutral living space for Spring is to introduce natural, mixed wood tones. There is something so warm and inviting about wood. It brightens up a room and gives any space personality. Items like the Winnet Accent Mirror, Dildy Rattan Rectangular Tray, and Sanctuary End Table fit the bill.
Next, I turn to accent pillows, throws, and wall art – all of which are easy and affordable additions that make a big impact. Choosing pillows with different textures, patterns and prints will shift your living room out of the Winter and into the Spring season effortlessly. Simple wall art like the Botanical Sketches is a two-for-one. They’re seasonally appropriate and can be styled universally in many rooms.
Finally, I like bringing in fresh greenery (real or faux) take your pick but I’m partial to artificial plants inside because they don’t require maintenance and look great year-round. I selected an artificial Olive Tree for this room inspiration because of its simplicity. Add this to any corner or tabletop in your living room and it will transform the space.
Dining Room Refresh
You can carry the same principles above into your Dining Room refresh as well. I selected pieces for this mood board around the Birch Lane Douglas Solid Wood Dining Table with the Petrolia Upholstered Dining Chairs.

If you’re up for a bigger change for the Spring, I cannot get enough of this Beier-Grasscloth Gingham Wallpaper. Whether you go all out and wallpaper your entire dining room or just an accent wall – the tone and texture of this wallpaper will leave beautiful results.
Setting the table for Spring time is simple with accents of gold flatware, white dinnerware, textured placemats and pops of color in your centerpieces. The lemon vase filler and Magnolias centerpiece will be complementary.
Finally, you can shift your dining space with a new accent piece like a bar cart, mirror or update your chandelier. Add all these elements or pick and choose based on your style and size of your space.
